DESMA Center as Resource Person in the Follow-Up Meeting on the Finalization of the Roadmap for the Development of Indonesia’s Tourism Event Industry

As part of the coordination process to finalize the Roadmap document currently under development, the Assistant Deputy for Event Strategy, under the Deputy for Event Organizer Development, Ministry of Tourism, convened a Follow-Up Meeting on the Finalization of the Roadmap for the Development of Indonesia’s Tourism Event Industry, held from November 5–8, 2025.
The meeting aimed to coordinate with the Event Strategy Assistant Deputy team regarding the latest substance of the Roadmap document following the synchronization and harmonization process across ministries/agencies and internal deputy-level units, as received from Focus Group Discussion (FGD) I, II, and III. The follow-up meeting was attended by Mr. Fransiskus Handoko, SST.Par., M.Sc, Assistant Deputy for Event Strategy, Deputy for Event Organizer Development (Events), Ministry of Tourism. In his remarks, he emphasized that the meeting was an effort to strengthen the substance of the Roadmap document through the active participation of all members of the Event Strategy Assistant Deputy, ensuring that the Roadmap would effectively support the development of an innovative, high-quality, sustainable, and globally competitive tourism event industry in Indonesia.

DESMA Center, as a speaker and partner in the preparation of the Roadmap document, participated in the follow-up meeting, represented by Dani Fauzi, Indriyani Handyastuti, and Hanesman Alkhair. During the meeting, DESMA Center presented the current conditions, challenges and opportunities, as well as the strategic directions outlined in the Roadmap for the Development of Indonesia’s Tourism Event Industry.
The session also included discussions on ongoing programs and the alignment of substantive content to ensure that the Roadmap remains relevant and adaptive to industry dynamics.
The Roadmap for the Development of Indonesia’s Tourism Event Industry is expected to serve as a cross-ministerial and cross-agency reference, supporting the advancement of Indonesia’s tourism event industry into one that is innovative, high-quality, sustainable, and globally competitive.
