Promotion of Products Produced by the Gunung Leuser National Park Community and Sumba Tourism Vocational School Students at the Indonesian Ecotourism Fair 2024

Sixty-three (63) products processed by the Batu Katak Ecotourism community, Gunung National Park Leuser and the work of Sumba tourism vocational school students at the Indonesian Ecotourism Fair (IEF) 2024. Taking place on 2-3 November 2024 in Jakarta.
DESMA Center participated in the IEF 2024 exhibition to introduce tourism products that prioritize sustainability principles and involve local communities to create authentic ecotourism experiences and introduce the work of Sumbanese youth.

The products introduced to visitors at the DESMA Center booth were processed by the people of the Batu Katak Ecotourism Area, North Sumatra, including gelugur acid syrup, trigona honey, and traditional Karo herbal medicine; as well as products made by Sumba Tourism Vocational School students including Sumba woven cloth, kaleku (woven bags), various containers resulting from the use of plastic waste and coffee packaging. Apart from processed products, the DESMA Center also helps promote tourism packages initiated and involving the local community of Gunung National Park Leuser and Tourism Vocational School students in Sumba.

Community group managing ecotourism in the Batu Katak Ecotourism Area, Gunung National Park Leuser, North Sumatra and tourism vocational schools in Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara are the beneficiaries (beneficiaries) programs implemented by the DESMA Center.
On that occasion, the DESMA Center also invited visitors to be actively involved in supporting the tourism human resource capacity strengthening program in Sumba by opening a charity channel.
