Dr. Juang Solala Laiya - Anthropology of Tourism Expert

Dr. Juang Solala Laiya
Juang received his PhD of University of Sumatera Utara. Juang Solala Laiya studied International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Katolik Parahyangan and received his Master degree from the Faculty of Arts, Institut Kesenian Jakarta (IKJ). He has strong experience at web and graphic design in Bali and Jakarta since 1995 and finally running his creative ideas as art director at a multinational advertising agency, Lowe & Partners Worldwide, handling variety prominent clients in Indonesia. Juang has involved in the design concept and created visual communication materials to local NGOs and international organizations. He believes that visual communication is a learning tool for community empowerment. Juang has been working on the issues of community empowerment at ILO for local economic development programs in Banda Aceh and Nias Island, and also as a field coordinator at UNESCO Jakarta for community-based tourism development program in South Nias.
