Stakeholder Consultation Workshop - Developing a Roadmap for Supporting Inclusive Business in Wellness Tourism in Indonesia

Stakeholder Consultation Workshop was held on 8 November 2019, taken place at Morrissey Hotel Jakarta. This Workshop was a continuous activity in developing a Roadmap for Inclusive Business in Wellness Tourism Sector in Indonesia. This workshop attended by stakeholders involves in development of document of Towards a Roadmap for Inclusive Business in Wellness Tourism in Indonesia which include The Indonesia Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, The Ministry of Cooperatives and SME, The Ministry of Maritime Affairs, The Ministry of Village Development, the Buleleng District Office, GIZ, ASEAN Secretariat, STP Trisakti, Ganesha University, Prasetya Mulya University, Hotels, Spa centers, business associations.

 

Workshop commenced with the Welcome Remarks by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and UNESCAP. Followed by the first Session which presented the Business perspectives of IB in Wellness Tourism in Indonesia as a Firestarter by Ms. Palupi Candra, the Head of Corporate Communication & CSR Martha Tilaar Group, and by Dr. Mahendra Shah, as the Founder and Director of Zen Resort Bali.

 

The Second Session is the presentation of findings of the assessment that has been carried out on 26 October 2019 – 7 November 2019. During this session, Mr. Christian Pirzer together with Ms. Wiwik Mahdayani presented facts and data gathered based on all the inputs that has been collected from stakeholders in Bali and Jakarta.

 

The third session was a Executive Panel Discussion with the panelists include Ms. Dra. Oneng Setya Harini, MM. (Assistant to Deputy of Cultural Tourism Development, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy); Ms. Ratna N. Eka Soebrata (Head of Public Relations and Research & Development, ASITA), Ms. Palupi Candra (Head of Corporate Communication & CSR, Martha Tilaar Group), Dr. Mahendra Shah, Founder and Director, Zen Resort Bali), Ms. Dian Vitriani (Team Leader & Senior Advisor, GIZ-ISED), and Mr. Rudolf Nuetzi (Country Director, SUSTOUR-Swisscontact).

 

The Fourth Session was roundtable discussions on priorities needed to be undertaken by relevant stakeholders to promote IB in Wellness Tourism in Indonesia, including the potential roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders in the sector.

 

Furthermore, the inputs of the discussions were elaborated as an additional inputs for the Final Report. This final report will be delivered to the government of Indonesia for recommendations on Inclusive Business in Wellness Tourism in Indonesia.
