Focus Group Discussion of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy: Development of Wellness Tourism National Action Plan 2022-2026

The preparation of the Wellness Tourism National Action Plan 2022-2026 is one of the series of Pre-Event of the International Wellness Tourism Conference & Festival (IWTCF) which will be held in Solo, 5 - 7 August 2022. The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy will declare and launch the Wellness Tourism National Action Plan 2022-2026 at the IWTCF.
 
The Focus Group Discussion was carried out in Hybrid format. Offline implementation was located at Sarinah Building on 14 June 2022. The activity was opened by the Deputy for Tourism Products and Events, Ibu Rizky Handayani and the Director of Special Interest Tourism of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Bapak Alexander Reyaan.
 
 
Offline participants came from Ministries/Institutions, Hotels/Resorts, Wellness Centres, Wellness Associations, Tourism Associations, Travel Agents and media representatives. Online activity participants came from Ministries/Institutions, Local Governments, Universities, Investments, Wellness Hotels/Resorts, Wellness Centers, and Associations/Societies/Event Organisers.
 
In order to obtain optimal and focused discussion results, participants were divided into 3 groups with different topics, namely Policy topics, Wellness Tourism Destinations & Products topics, and Marketing and Promotion topics.
 
 
The group discussions raised specific themes for the identification of Wellness Tourism development programmes and activities in Indonesia, including mapping the potential involvement, roles and responsibilities of relevant parties in the development of Wellness Tourism in Indonesia. The DESMA Center team, which is part of the joint secretariat of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for the implementation of the IWTCF, presented the baseline document and assisted in the facilitation of the plenary and three (3) clustered group discussion topics.  
 
The results of the discussion were inputs and recommendations from relevant stakeholders, which will be analysed and elaborated on the Wellness Tourism National Action Plan 2022-2026 document.
