Visitation of Sandiaga Uno the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy to DESMA Center project Location in the Gunung Leuser National Park, Langkat Regency, Sumatra Utara

 

 

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, His Excellency Dr. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno together with the directors and staffs of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) paid an official visit to the opening of trainings for SMEs/tourism business actors in the Batu Katak Ecotourism Site, Gunung Leuser National Park, Kabupaten Langkat, Sumatra Utara. The Batu Katak Ecotourism Site is the locus of the project of Ecotourism Digitalization and Capacity Building for Ecotourism Business Actors in the Gunung Leuser National Park, Kabupaten Langkat, Sumatra Utara in response to Covid-19 pandemic. The project is being implemented by DESMA Center.

 

The first of trainings series conducted was the Service Excellence training. The objective of the trainings series is to strengthening the capacity of tourism business actors/SMEs carried out by DESMA Center in collaboration with Politeknik Pariwisata Medan (Medan Tourism Polytechnic). The official working visit of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy is also for the opening and visitation of the training. The visit was conducted on April 14, 2022 at the Batu Katak Ecotourism Site, Gunung Leuser National Park.

 

 

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy consists of the Special Staff of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy for the Security of Tourism Destinations and Strategic Issues, Brigadier General Ario Prawiseso; Director of Regional Destination Development 1, Drs. Harwan Ekon Cahyo Wirasto, M.T; Director of Destination Governance and Sustainable Tourism, Indra Ni Tua, ST., M.Comm; Director of Regional Events, Drs. Reza Fahlevi, M.Si; and Director of Medan Tourism Polytechnic Dr. Anwari Masatip.

Djohar Arifin Husin; Plt Head of Kabupaten Langkat, Syah Afandin, SH; Head of Langkat Regional Development Planning (Bappeda) Rina Wahyuni ​​Marpaung; Head of the Langkat Tourism Office, Nur Elly Heriani Rambe, S..Ag, MM; Head of the North Sumatra Tourism Office, Zumri Sulthony, M.Si, CHE; Plh Gunung Leuser National Park, Ruswanto SP SH and his staff.

The Digitalization and Capacity Building for Ecotourism Business Actors in Gunung Leuser National Park, Kabupaten Langkat, Sumatra Utara in response to Covid-19 pandemic Program comprises series of trainings include: (1) Tour Guiding Training (2) Itinerary and Tour Quotation Preparation Training (3) Service Excellence Training (4) Homestay Management Training (5) Culinary Training (6 ) Hygine & Sanitation Training (7) Financial Management Training (8) Social Media Management Training (9) Story Telling Training, Caption Writing, Writing Ecotourism Promotion Articles.

 

The project will also facilitate the implementation of CHSE in the category of tourism destination, business matching, Tourism Stakeholders Networking, as well as digital platform development that will synergize tourism businesses/SMEs and the creative economy sectors in the Gunung Leuser National Park, in the Kabupaten Langkat, Sumatra Utara.
