Tourism is one of the key sectors driving Indonesia’s economy. However, to develop a high-quality and competitive tourism sector, strong investment support from both domestic and international sources is essential. Attracting investment in the tourism sector requires government involvement and multi-stakeholder collaboration to create a more conducive ecosystem.

The active role of the government, synergy among stakeholders, and supportive policies are key to attracting investors to the tourism sector. Aware of the importance of the government’s role in creating a conducive investment climate, the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar) organizes the International Tourism Investment Forum (ITIF) as a platform for stakeholders and investors to connect.

ITIF is an annual event that has been held since 2023 and 2024. ITIF 2023 carried the theme “Embracing Tourism Investment Opportunity: Green and Sustainable Investment”, while ITIF 2024 was themed “Elevating Tourism Investment for Sustainable Growth”. Over the past two years, ITIF themes have been aligned with global tourism investment trends. In response to the growing trend in the Health and Wellness Tourism sector, ITIF 2025 will focus on the development and investment in this sector to strengthen Indonesia’s position as a leading destination for health and wellness tourism.

The Assistant Deputy for Investment Management, under the Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with DESMA Center as the Knowledge Partner, held a series of meetings and discussions to strengthen the planning and implementation strategy for ITIF 2025. These meetings took place from March to May 2025.

ITIF 2025 will feature speakers and investors relevant to the Health and Wellness Tourism sector. The forum will present investment opportunities in Health and Wellness Tourism within both global and Indonesian contexts. It will also include presentations on projects, business and investment opportunities, as well as thematic companies related to Health and Wellness Tourism.

ITIF 2025 will be held in Bali. In this context, the forum is expected to serve as a key catalyst for unlocking investment opportunities, particularly in the health and wellness tourism subsector. The event also aims to promote the development of a more structured and strategic health and wellness tourism market, aligned with global trends and the growing demand for travel experiences that support physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. With these efforts, Indonesia holds significant potential to become a leading destination on the global health and wellness tourism map.
