DESMA Center is Knowledge Partner of the 2024 International Tourism Investment Forum (ITIF) in Jakarta

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy successfully held the 2024 International Tourism Investment Forum (ITIF) with the theme "Elevating Tourism Investments for Sustainable Growth" on 5 - 6 June 2024 at Swissotel PIK Avenue, Jakarta. It is expected that holding ITIF for the second time can become a platform for dialogue and strategic partnerships to face the complexity of tourism investment globally, regionally and nationally, as well as strengthening innovation, resilience and sustainable development by prioritizing aspects people, planet, and prosperity.
The implementation of ITIF 2024 was attended by 600 participants consisting of investors, project owners, central and regional governments, business associations, international organizations, academics, financial institutions from 29 countries including Belgium, China, Egypt, Germany, Malaysia, India, Singapore, Japan, Canada and so on. In this forum there is a series of activities consisting of 14 sessions plenary conference that is keynote session, high level talks, leaders dialogue, and CEO talks, attended by 46 prominent international and national speakers with various relevant backgrounds; and 8 sessions roundtable discussion which presents investment project opportunities in the tourism and creative economy sectors.
Among others high profiles speakers included Mr. Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy; Mrs. Sri Mulyani, Minister of Finance; Mr. Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment; Mr Alue Dohong, Deputy Minister of Environment and Forestry; Prof. Dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Sp.PD-KEMD., Ph.D., Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia; Mr Ollivier Zehnder, Swiss Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor Leste and ASEAN; Mr Norimasa Shimomura, UNDP Resident Representative in Indonesia. The speaker for the keynote session was Ms. Natalia Bayona, Executive Director of UN Tourism with the theme Global and Regional Tourism Investment Trends and Opportunities.

As a knowledge partner, DESMA Center is part of a joint work secretariat supporting the Directorate of Investment Management, Deputy for Industry and Investment, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia to support the successful implementation of ITIF 2024. As knowledge partner, DESMA Center also helps conceptualize and develop the substantive aspects of the forum, includes developing a framework and framework for thinking as well as directing the strategic topics and issues discussed in each session plenary conference and roundtable discussion including preparing resource persons and thoruhg its connections, panelists and moderators as well as to develop proceedings of the conference.
