 SKKNI Draft Convention, KKNI Draft, and Occupational Scheme Draft in the field of Tourism Destination Planning

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) formed a team to formulate the SKKNI Draft, KKNI Draft, and Occupational Scheme Draft in the field of Tourism Destination Planning consisting of business actors in related sectors, associations, professional certification institutions, job training institutions and universities. DESMA Center is part of the drafting team.

This activity was carried out in the context of cooperation between the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the World Bank to implement the Integrated and Sustainable Tourism Development Program (P3TB) orIndonesia Tourism Development Project (ITDP) which uses Foreign Grant Loan Funds (PHLN) from the relevant World BankCompetency Based Standard.  

A program that aims to accelerate recovery and increase productivity in the tourism sector and creative economy throughupskilling (increased competency),reskilling (strengthening competence), andnew skilling (the addition of new competencies) is expected to be able to create job opportunities and business opportunities for competent and sustainable Tourism and Creative Economy human resources (HR Parekraf).

After going through a series of formulation activities that take place continuously and comprehensively; as well as pre-convention formulation results to obtain input and suggestions regarding the results of the formulation of the SKKNI Draft, KKNI Draft, and Occupational Scheme Draft in the field of Tourism Destination Planning prepared by the drafting team; The results of various FGD activities, Pick Test Workshop and pre-convention were presented to stakeholders at the convention activities held on October 24 2023 in Jakarta.

This activity was attended by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Mr. Dr. Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, BBA., MBA; as well as Deputy for Resources and Institutions, Mrs. Ir Martini Muhammad Paham, MBA and representatives of The World Bank Group in one of the 12 formulated fields. The drafting team gave presentations and facilitated group discussions consisting of three groups, each of which discussed the formulations of the RSKKNI, RKKNI and RSO that had been prepared by the drafting team. After the discussion, each group presented the input from the review results during the sessionplenary to then discuss together. The session closed with discussion and handover of the results of the national convention. The results of this formulation document will then be submitted to be determined by the Ministry of Manpower.

The results of this formulation are important as a standard document to be used as a national reference for education, training, career qualification levels, and HR certification testing in the field of Tourism Destination Planning. The existence of this standardized reference will be useful in developing the capacity of tourism human resources in Indonesia.
