Signing of Cooperation (MoA) between Sumba Tourism Vocational School and Tourism Polytechnic NHI Bandung

Follow up DESMA Center collaboration with NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar) on October 28 2022, DESMA Center facilitates assisted schools to sign cooperation with the NHI Bandung Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar). This activity will be held on September 19 2023 in West Sumba and Southwest Sumba.
The signing was carried out by Mrs. Dra. Cucu Kurniati, MM.Par., CHE., lecturer in Travel Business at NHI Bandung Poltekpar with Mr. Melkianus Tamo Ama, S.Pd, Head of Efata Vocational School; Mrs. Siti Yulia Irani Nugraha, MM. Par. lecturer at the NHI Bandung Polytechnic Room Division with Mrs. Yohana Landa, S.Pd., M.Pd.K, SMKN 1 Waikabubak; Mrs. Indriyani Handyastuti, M.Sc. CHE., CEP., CEM., CEE., lecturer in Event Planning and Management at NHI Bandung Poltekpar with Aleks Rangga Pija, S.H., M.Pd, Head of Tambolaka Pancasila Vocational School; Mrs. Ratih Pitria Purnamasari, S.ST.Par., MM.Par., lecturer in Food & Beverage Poltekpar NHI Bandung with Mrs. F.R. Titik Palupi, S.Pd., M.M., Head of SMKS Bakti Luhur Tambolaka.
Also present at the signing was Mrs. Adriana M.D. Ngongo, S.Pd., M.Pd.K., Supervisory Coordinator (Korwas) SMA/SMK/SLB NTT Provincial P&K Service and Mr. Boyke Hutapea, Program Manager DESMA Center Field Office Sumba.

This signing is a synergy to improve the quality of tourism education in Sumba to produce Tourism Vocational School graduates who are better prepared and skilled in the industry. This activity is part of Program TVET for Sustainable Tourism Development in Sumba which is implemented by the DESMA Center.

The TVET for Sustainable Tourism Development in Sumba program is supported by MISEREOR/KZE; implemented by the DESMA Center. Strengthening the Capacity of Tourism Human Resources aims to realize "a tourism vocational school education program in Sumba to meet the needs and requirements of the tourism industry, thereby offering better job opportunities for young people and supporting sustainable tourism in Sumba."
This program includes strengthening (1) Management capacity of tourism vocational schools in line with the independent curriculum and the concept of sustainable tourism; (2) Teacher capacity in pedagogical knowledge, about teaching and sustainable tourism (3) Tourism Vocational School-Tourism Industry Partnership; and (4) Students' entrepreneurial capacity in creating a sustainable tourism business.
The direct beneficiaries of this program are (1) Pancasila Vocational School – Tambolaka, Southwest Sumba; (2) SMK Negeri 2 Tambolaka City, Southwest Sumba; (3) Bakti Luhur Vocational School – Tambolaka, Southwest Sumba; (4) Efata Vocational School - Omba Rade, Southwest Sumba; and (5) Waikabubak State Vocational School 1, West Sumba. The direct partners of this program are (1) East Nusa Tenggara Province Education & Culture Office; (2) Southwest Sumba Regency Government; (3) West Sumba Regency Government; (4) Southwest Sumba Regency Tourism Office; and (5) West Sumba Regency Tourism Office.
