Digitalization Alumni Tracer and Teaching Factory Workshop

Digitalization program intending to simplify learning process and applying digital system for education service and data collecting. Vocational High School (SMK) not only focuses on theoretical learning but also with practice learning. This practice needs connectivity between school and the industrial sector. Teaching model based on product (stuff/service) through connectivity between school and industry to generate quality alumni suitable with industrial needs that mentioned Teaching Factory.

 

DESMA Center held a discussion on digitalization of Alumni Tracer and Teaching Factory on Tuesday, 28 February 2023 in DESMA Center Sumba Office. Attended by principals from five Foster Vocational school also with four vice principal curriculum field (SMKS Pancasila Tambolaka, SMKS Bakti Luhur, SMKN 2 Kota Tambolaka dan SMKN 1 Waikabubak).

  

First session discussed digitalization of Alumni Tracer. Digitalization alumni tracer expected can reach the target commonly all foster schools have implemented tracer study along three years running program. All schools committed to doing their best towards achieving the goals. All foster schools already have a school website. There are two foster schools not yet having an “Alumni” feature in the school website. 

 

Second session discusses the Digitalization Teaching Factory (TeFa). Goals of Teaching Factory for developing character and work ethic also producing product and service.

 

 

 

Related this digitalisation TeFa, school management also agree for developing digital platform with intention; (1) tour package and event organizer (EO) service selling for tour and travel major; (2) cleaning service, laundry booking for hotelier major; (3) catering service and food product for culinary department.

 

DESMA Center will facilitate the development of a digital application platform for fulfilling five foster school needs as learning infrastructure and marketing to targeting which use by teacher, student and partner industry.

 

This activity intends to understand foster schools needs,facilitate the creation and development of Alumni Tracer and Teaching Factory digital platforms to be useful for schools. Digitalization Alumni Tracer and Teaching Factory Workshop is a part of Program TVET for Sustainable Tourism Development in Sumba implemented by DESMA Center.

Program TVET for Sustainable Tourism Development in Sumba supported by MISEREOR/KZE; implemented by DESMA Center. Capacity building for tourism Human Resource intending to implement “Program Vocational Tourism School in Sumba for fulfilling needs and requirements of the tourism industry, so that offering better employment opportunities for youth also supporting sustainable tourism in Sumba.”

 

This program included upgrading for (1) tourism vocational school related to the merdeka curriculum and sustainable tourism concept; (2) teacher capacity about practice knowledge, teaching and sustainable tourism (3) partnership Vocational tourism School with tourism industry; and (4) Student entrepreneurship on creating sustainable tourism business.

 

Beneficiaries for this program is (1) SMK Pancasila – Tambolaka, Sumba Barat Daya; (2) SMK Negeri 2 Tambolaka, Sumba Barat Daya; (3) SMK Bakti Luhur – Tambolaka, Sumba Barat Daya; (4) SMK Efata - Omba Rade, Sumba Barat Daya; dan (5) SMK Negeri 1 Waikabubak, Sumba Barat. Partner for this program is (1) Nusa Tenggara Timur Education and cultural States Authority; (2) Sumba Barat Daya Government Regency; (3) Sumba Barat Government regency; (4) Sumba Barat Daya Tourism Regency Authority; and (5) Sumba Barat Tourism Regency Authority
